WWE Raw Results 4/24/17

(c) WWE

1. Matt Hardy defeated Sheamus. Both Jeff Hardy and Cesaro were ringside. Matt Hardy pinned Sheamus following a Twist Of Fate. Just like last week, there was a post-match handshake between the teams, though this one was more tenuous.

— The Miz and Maryse confronted Raw general manager Kurt Angle, who then placed him in a tag team match against Dean Ambrose and Chris Jericho, telling the Miz to find a partner.

2. Jack Gallagher and Austin Aries defeated TJ Perkins and Neville. Aries pinned Perkins after successfully delivering his Discus Fivearm.

3. Dumpster Match: Kalisto defeated Braun Strowman. The first dumpster match in WWE in 17 years ended when Kalisto, standing inside the ring, dropkicked Strowman, who was on the ring apron, in the knees, sending him into the dumpster stationed at ringside. Strowman then re-entered the ring and promptly beat the tar out of Kalisto, eventually placing his prone body in the dumpster, dragging said dumpster to the top of the Raw stage and then shoving it off onto the concrete below. Despite numerous crowd chants for him, Roman Reigns never appeared. Kalisto was stretchered out.

— Bray Wyatt showed up on the Titantron and said some spooky stuff about his upcoming House Of Horrors match against Randy Orton.

4. Dana Brooke defeated Alicia Fox. Brooke scored the pinfall victory over Fox following a Michinoku Driver. Emma then entered the ring and gave Dana a hug, which was unreciprocated.

— Samoa Joe, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson cut a promo backstage where they promised they would destroy Seth Rollins, Enzo Amore and Big Cass in a six-man tag later in the evening.

5. Finn Bálor, Seth Rollins and Big Cass defeated Samoa Joe, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows. Before the match started, Joe, Gallows and Anderson jumped Enzo and Cass on their way to the ring. Rollins ran down for the save, eventually clearing house. Enzo was ruled unfit to compete, so Kurt Angle replaced him with Finn Bálor. Rollins finished off Anderson with a flying knee strike, after first setting up for and then waving off his old finishing move, the Pedigree.

— Alexa Bliss came out to the ring and ran down the Raw Women’s Champion, Bayley. Bayley then came out and told Bliss to say it to her face. Bliss then called her a pathetic, sheltered child and promised to humiliate her in front of her family at Payback this Sunday, as the event is in Bayley’s hometown of San Jose, California. Sasha Banks then came out to Bayley’s defense and challenged Bliss to a match.

6. Sasha Banks defeated Alexa Bliss. Bliss purposely took the countout loss following a brief match against the Boss. Bayley then ran after Bliss, who outsmarted her and jumped her from behind. Sasha ran to Bayley’s aid but it was too late.

— Dean Ambrose approached Chris Jericho backstage and asked if he would remove his name from the List. Jericho obliged, scratching Ambrose’s name out, then re-writing it as soon as Ambrose walked away.

— Charly Caruso interviewed Heath Slater and Curtis Axel regarding their roles in The Marine 5. The Miz then interrupted, trying to recruit one of them to be his tag team partner. Rhyno then appeared and offered Maryse some crackers. She refused.

7. Apollo Crews defeated Curt Hawkins. Crews won following an enziguri into a spin out powerbomb. After the match, Titus O’Neil showed up to take an in-ring selfie with Crews.

— Michael Cole announced Kalisto suffered “hip and cervical trauma” from the aftermath of the dumpster match earlier in the evening.

8. Chris Jericho and Dean Ambrose NC the Miz and Bray Wyatt. Before the match began, the Miz’s mystery partner was revealed to be … no one at all. Kurt Angle ordered the match to continue, partner or no partner, which resulted in Jericho and Ambrose taking Miz to the woodshed all over the arena. Suddenly, Bray Wyatt teleported to the top of the announce table to attack Ambrose, hitting him with a Sister Abigail into the Titantron. He then hit Jericho with Sister Abigail in the ring, followed by another Sister Abigail on the Miz. The match appeared to be called off, as no pinfall was attempted, no bell sounded and no winner was declared.
