WWE No Mercy 2017 predictions

Here are my predictions for tonights WWE ppv No Mercy:

Universal Championship Match: Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Braun Strowman

If Strowman wins, then I'm all for it. However, I have zero faith that will happen, and by booking Lesnar to just beat Strowman, WWE will continue down the path of annoying me with the way the Universal Championship has been utilized for the entirety of 2017.
PREDICTIONS: Lesnar retains.

John Cena vs. Roman Reigns

Tell me one reason why this wouldn't be a better choice for WrestleMania 34's main event as opposed to another rematch between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar. I'm glad WWE is doing this in general, but I'm really annoyed that it's happening at No Mercy and sacrificing a true WrestleMania main event. The only hope I have at this point is that we don't get Reigns/Lesnar and that we also get Samoa Joe against John Cena, cause who else is there that will be a good enough opponent for Cena at Mania other than Reigns or Joe?
PREDICTIONS: Roman Reigns will win.

Raw Tag Team Championship Match: Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins (c) vs. Cesaro and Sheamus

I'm not a fan of how many rematches we get all the time with the brand split. Meh. This makes sense, but it's just so easy and it's so bland. I liked their match, so I'm interested in it from that aspect, but the feud itself does nothing for me.
PREDICTIONS: Ambrose and Rollins retain.

Raw Women's Championship Fatal 5-Way Match: Alexa Bliss (c) vs. Sasha Banks vs. Nia Jax vs. Emma vs. Bayley

I'm very, very happy this is how things went down instead of it being just Bliss vs. Banks again. This allows Emma to take a pinfall loss if Bliss retains and it also opens up the possibility of Jax winning the title (although I'd prefer Bliss to keep it). The practicality of the match is in question, but I'm confident enough that these five women will put on a decent show.
PREDICTIONS: Alexa Bliss retains.

Finn Balor vs. Bray Wyatt

This is the same match we got before, but without the face paint. Hope for BRAY to win this one.
PREDICTIONS: Bray Wyatt wins.

Cruiserweight Championship Match: Neville (c) vs. Enzo Amore

I'm really, really glad to see that Enzo Amore is now part of the 205 Live crew. It just makes so much sense for him to be a bigger fish in a smaller pond like this, particularly since he has more charisma and enthusiasm in his mic skills than nearly all of the rest of the roster combined. Enzo will bring a little more life and vitality to this situation. While the match he has with Neville might not match the energy of some of the contests we've seen before, the promos leading up to it will be a step up from what we normally get from the cruiserweight division.
PREDICTIONS: Neville retains.

Intercontinental Championship Match: The Miz (c) vs. Jason Jordan

There's definitely a chance Jordan walks out with the title, but I don't quite think so. It depends on how WWE wants to utilize certain people in the future. I can see Jordan winning it and being booked in a feud with Elias, Samoa Joe, etc going forward, but I can also see The Miz retaining and moving on to Roman Reigns or Finn Balor.
PREDICTIONS: The safe bet is for The Miz.

Kickoff Match: Elias vs. Apollo Crews

Elias wins, unless this is a legitimate feud.

— AJ Styles came to the ring and shamed Kevin Owens for his actions, then ran down Baron Corbin, who he dubbed “The Shortcut King” and a failure. Baron Corbin came out for the United States Open Challenge, and the ring introductions were made, but before the bell could ring, Corbin attacked Styles from behind. When the referee managed to pull Corbin off and went to check on Styles, Tye Dillinger appeared and attacked Corbin. Dillinger tossed Corbin out of the ring and Corbin injured his ankle in the process.

Corbin rolled back in the ring and tried to tell the referee that he wasn’t well enough to continue, and clutched his ankle. Styles locked in the Calf Crusher and Corbin tapped out, but the match was never official.

— Charlotte Flair came to the ring to thank the fans for their support over these trying six weeks dealing with Ric Flair’s health concerns. She was interrupted by Natalya, who invited Charlotte to stay for her “Celebration of Women.” This was actually a celebration of Natalya, and Charlotte interrupted to challenge for Natalya’s Smackdown Women’s Championship. She was interrupted by Becky Lynch, then Naomi, then Lana and Tamina, all of whom staked their own claim to the title.
Natalya attempted to deny any of them a shot at the title, but Daniel Bryan appeared to make a main event No. 1 contender match between Charlotte, Becky, Tamina and Naomi.

Tamina hit the Superfly splash on Lynch, but Naomi broke up the pinfall. Lana pulled Naomi out of the ring and Tamina hit Naomi with a superkick on the apron, then turned around into a big boot from Flair, who got the pin.

Baron Corbin came to ringside and jumped up on the apron during the match, but Styles hit him with the Phenomenal Forearm before he could interfere. Styles kicked out of the Tye Breaker and locked in the Calf Crusher to get the submission victory.

— After the match, Corbin laid out both Styles and Dillinger and announced he would be answering Styles’ United States Open Challenge next week.

— Jinder Mahal and the Singh Brothers came to the ring. Mahal mocked Shinsuke Nakamura, using a lot of racial insults. He said this was a taste of how the WWE fans will treat Nakamura if he were to become WWE Champion. He said it isn’t worth it, and recommended Nakamura just walk away.

Natalya sent Naomi into the post, then rolled her back in the ring and locked in the Sharpshooter, forcing Naomi to tap out.

— Dolph Ziggler came out and once again insulted the fans for only liking gimmicks and elaborate entrances. He mocked the entrances of Bayley and Ultimate Warrior, then said anyone can do those entrances, but no one can do what he does in the ring. The fans couldn’t care less, but he couldn’t care less about the fans.

4. Shelton Benjamin and Chad Gable defeated the Hype Bros. Gable pinned Zack Ryder after he and Benjamin hit a modified Doomsday Device/powerbomb combo. Ryder refused to join Mojo Rawley in a respectful handshake with their opponents after the match.

— Vince McMahon came to the ring to meet with Kevin Owens. McMahon said he was nauseated, and said Owens didn’t fight back against Shane because he couldn’t because he was getting his ass kicked. Vince threatened to fire Owens if he went through with his lawsuit, and threatened to bankrupt him. Vince said he suspended Shane, not because he laid he hands on Owens, but because he didn’t finish the job.

McMahon said when Owens insulted the McMahons, he got what he deserved. He said there isn’t going to be a lawsuit, there’s going to be a match, and it’s going to be between Shane and Owens inside Hell in a Cell. Owens agreed, provided that, if provoked, he has the okay to beat a McMahon senseless. Vince agreed, and shook Owens’ hand.

Owens then delivered a headbutt that split Vince open, and said he’d been given the authority to beat a McMahon senseless. Then he punted McMahon in the midsection as referees attempted to help. As McMahon struggled to his feet, Owens delivered a superkick, then tossed the referees and went for a frog splash. Adam Pearce attempted to prevent it, but Owens delivered the frog splash anyway before finally leaving.

As McMahon was being helped out of the ring, Stephanie McMahon emerged to help and stared down Owens on her way to the ring.
