(c) tna wrestling

BEER MONEY vs. ERIC YOUNG & BRAM
Lockdown “6 Sides of Steel” kicked off with Veteran Tag Team Beer Money, James Storm & Bobby Roode. As they entered the arena the always vocal UK crowd were on their feet and cheering to be on Storm’s “Boozer Cruiser Cam”. It didn’t take long for the action to start when Beer Money rushed to the outside and brought the fight to the IMPACT ramp, interrupting Eric Young & Bram’s entrances. Early on, E.Y. & Bram were able to isolate Bobby Roode to gain the early advantage inside the cage. After James Storm recovered he was able to get back into the 6 Sides of Steel to help Roode. Then it was time for Beer Money to show the London crowd just why the veteran tag team has reunited. The match was filled with back and forth hard hitting action, with some impressive top rope offense from both teams. Beer Money was able get the UK crowd rallied behind them, and were right on time with their Tag Team offense. In the end they were able to hit the DWI on Bram and get the first Victory of the night at Lockdown!
Winners: Beer Money

X-DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP: TIGRE UNO vs. TREVOR LEE w/ SHANE HELMS
Right away this match starts off with fast paced action that favors Tigre Uno’s style and we see some near pin falls. Trevor Lee is vicious on Tigre Uno, this seems to be his strategy to stop all of Uno’s momentum, and keep the luchadore grounded. It all seems to be a fight plan well thought out by Shane Helms. Tigre Uno has had enough and gets fired up, and starts to use the Six Sides of Steel to his advantage by repeatedly throwing Trevor Lee into the walls. Tigre Uno climbs to the top of the cage and delivers a massive flying cross body onto Trevor Lee! Shane Helms is shocked on the outside at what he’s just seen, and Tigre Uno is slow to cover, which allows Trevor Lee to desperately kick out on the 2 count. Trevor Lee is able to gain the upper hand quickly with some heavy knee strikes and hits Tigre Uno with his Fisherman’s Buster to retain the X-Division Title.
Winner and still X-Division Champion: Trevor Lee

KNOCKOUTS LETHAL LOCKDOWN

Velvet sends Jade into the steel walls multiple times, and hits a big Neck Breaker on Marty keeping the Doll’s House down. The next entrant into the match is Doll’s House member Rebel. Rebel throws some mean Roundhouse Kicks into the heads of Gail Kim and Velvet Sky along with delivering some innovative Back Breakers. Rebel grabs a baking pan and blasts Gail Kim with it, Jade unloads with a kendo stick but it backfires and all the Knockouts are taken out. The final entrant into the match is Maria taking Madison Rayne’s place for the Beautiful People. However instead of competing and earning respect of the Knockouts division, Maria turns her back on The Beautiful People and Gail Kim. Maria locks them all in the cage, leaving The Beautiful People outnumbered by The Doll’s House. After some hardcore weapons offense there are a few near pins, but in the end Jade delivers a Piledriver to Gail Kim on a chair and gets the win, claiming victory in the Knockouts Lethal Lockdown Match for The Doll’s House.

ELI DRAKE vs. ODARG “THE GREAT”

The match begins and Odarg showcases his quickness, strength, and agility as he scales the Six Sides of Steel. After being outclassed by the speed of Odarg, Eli Drake punches the cage and then feels the wrath of Odarg’s earth shattering striking abilities. Eli Drake has no choice but to hit Odarg with a low blow, if only to save himself. Eli Drake gains control and hits Odarg while he’s down repeatedly, Drake then taunts the UK crowd. Eli Drake hits his patented Eli Elbow on Odarg. Then Drake’s tag team partner, Mr. Pectacular Jessie Godderz, opens the Six Sides of Steel door from the outside. Eli Drake tries to escape but Odarg grabs Eli by his trunks until he has a wardrobe malfunction. While Eli Drake is down Odarg ascends the Six Sides of Steel like a phoenix rising. Odarg is able to get over the top of the cage but Eli Drake grabs him by his mask! Odarg slips away from the clutches of Eli Drake even though he loses his mask at the end, Odarg “The Great” is victorious at Lockdown!

LOCKDOWN TNA WORLD TITLE MATCH EC3 vs. MATT HARDY
An extremely focused EC3 enters the Six Sides of Steel while the excited UK crowd are waving their arms and singing EC3’s entrance theme. Backstage we see Tyrus let The World Champion Matt Hardy know it’s time to go to the ring, Hardy and Tyrus enter the arena. Hardy and EC3 face off in a stare down that quickly erupts into trading punches to the head, and chops to the chest. After a flury of offense by EC3, Matt Hardy is able to battle back and regain the advantage. From the outside Tyrus throws a chair over the top of the cage to Matt Hardy. Hardy unloads a hard chair shot across the back of EC3, while Tyrus verbally berates Ethan Carter from the outside, reminding him that he’s “all alone now”. Matt and EC3 continue to trade high impact moves to each other, Matt hits multiple Side Effects, and Ethan hits the TK3, but neither man get the victory. While on the outside, Tyrus has removed the chain from the cage door and stands in the way of EC3 exiting the Six Sides of Steel. EC3 invites Tyrus to get into the ring so he can get some retribution on his former bodyguard. Tyrus accepts and comes into the ring and gets layed out by EC3, if only for a moment. Tyrus recovers and tries to lock EC3’s wrist to the cage but it backfires and Tyrus finds himself locked to the cage. EC3 unloads on him repeatedly with extremely hard steel chair shots. Ethan Carter turns around and out of no where Matt Hardy hits the Twist of Fate and covers, but EC3 is able to barely kick out on 2.

Eventually both men climb their way to the top rope, and both suffer the consequences of a top rope side Russian leg sweep. Both men are winded and down from that crash but Matt Hardy is able to get to his feet first and regain the upper hand. Hardy puts a chair around the neck of EC3 and hits him with another Twist of Fate. EC3 refuses to give up and kicks out again out of desperation. Matt and EC3 continue to ground and pound each other as they crawl to the cage door. Reby Hardy comes to ringside with a hammer in her hands to give to Matt Hardy, but Rockstar Spud appears and runs down to stop her. Suddenly Spud turns and slams the Six Sides of Steel door shut on the skull of EC3, knocking him out cold. The UK crowd is in shock at what they are witnessing. Rockstar Spud opens the cage door and allows The Champion Matt Hardy to exit the cage and retain his World Title. Things take a vial turn at the end when Matt Hardy commands Rockstar Spud to “Kill The Cancer” referring to EC3. Rockstar Spud straddles a knocked out and defenseless EC3 laying on the steps. Rockstar raises the chair and smashes the skull of EC3 again on the steel steps. Rockstar Spud has sold out to Matt Hardy.

WWE Raw Results 2/22/16

Vince and Stephanie McMahon kicked off the show with the presentation of the Vincent J. McMahon Legacy of Excellence Award. The winner was…Stephanie McMahon! She cried and prepared to start her speech, but was then interrupted by her brother Shane. Shane ran down the company and his sister, then said he wants control of Raw. Vince tells him first he’ll have to have a match – it’ll be him vs. The Undertaker at WrestleMania in a Hell in a Cell match.

1. The New Day defeated Neville and the Lucha Dragons. Sin Cara missed hitting a senton, allowing Kofi Kingston to win with a Trouble in Paradise.

– Paul Heyman comes out to say that Lesnar needs a new opponent for WrestleMania now that he won’t be in the main event, and anyone who wants to step up should do so. Dean Ambrose then drove an ambulance into the arena and crawled to the ring. Lesnar F5ed Ambrose, and Heyman confirmed Lesnar and Ambrose will be fighting at WrestleMania.

2. The Usos defeated The Ascension. The Usos superkicked Konnor and Viktor, then Jey splashed Viktor for the win.

3. Chris Jericho and AJ Styles defeated The Social Outcasts. Curtis Axel tapped out to the Walls of Jericho.

4. The Wyatt Family defeated Kane, Ryback, and Big Show. Ryback abandoned Kane, allowing Bray Wyatt to win with a Sister Abigail.

5. Sasha Banks defeated Naomi. Sasha won with a Bank Statement. Afterwards, Charlotte came out to announce that Sasha and Becky Lynch would have to fight each other for a chance to become number one contender for the Divas Championship.

6. Roman Reigns versus Sheamus ended in a no contest. Roman Reigns speared Sheamus on the outside, but then Triple H came out dressed in jeans and a leather jacket and interfered in the match. He gave Roman Reigns a brutal and bloody beatdown to end the show.

Del Rio won the second fall with a Tree of Woe double-stomp. Kalisto won the third fall with a rollup to retain the Championship.

-> great match for the preshow and the right winner. 8 of 10 points.

1. Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks defeated Naomi and Tamina. Lynch and Banks won with stereo submission finishers (the Banks Statement and the Dis-Arm-Her) on Naomi and Tamina.

-> good opener and divas match. Sasha on her way against Charlotte at WrestleMania. 7 of 10 points.

-> not the best match from both men but ok. 7 of 10 points.

-> LAME - wrong winner team and Ryback meight injured another wrestler. 2 of 10 points.

4. Divas Championship Match: Charlotte (c) defeated Brie Bella. Charlotte won by submission with the Figure-Eight.

-> just a fill-in match for the Divas title between Sasha and Charlotte at WM. But a good one. 7 of 10 points.

5. AJ Styles defeated Chris Jericho. Styles won by submission with the Calf Crusher. After the match, the two shook hands.

-> Should be the match of the evening but some mistakes and bad moves. Still a pretty good match for 8 of 10 points.

-> great promo and New Day on their way to a Face turn.

-> Lame and a waste of time - 0 of 10 points.

7. Triple Threat Match: Roman Reigns defeated Dean Ambrose and Brock Lesnar. Ambrose and Reigns put Lesnar through the announce table with a powerbomb on two separate occasions, but it wasn’t enough to keep him down. Reigns speared Lesnar, but Lesnar transitioned it into a Kimura. As Reigns was trying to power out, Ambrose attacked both men with chairs. Ambrose knocked Lesnar out of the ring, but turned into a spear from Reigns. Reigns moves on to face Triple H for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania.

-> good mainevent but I missed the surprise act of the evening like The Undertaker interfering against Lesnar. Reigns winning was clear for the last few weeks. 7 of 10 points.

WWE Fastlane 2016 Predictions

WWE United States Championship – Two out of three falls
Kalisto (c) vs. Alberto Del Rio

I’m not quite sure what WWE’s goals are with this feud. To have the title bounce back and forth so quickly between these two has left me quite confused. Nearly as confused as to why Alberto Del Rio decided to start sporting a footballers haircut this past week on RAW. I digress. We know that these two can have a good match, I just question whether there is a better match on the card which deserves two out of three falls stipulation other than this one?
Prediction: Kalisto

Tag Team Match - Sasha Banks & Becky Lynch vs. Naomi & Tamina
Sasha’s feud with her old teammates has recently turned her babyface and with WrestleMania just around the corner we have to imagine that a match for the Women’s title will involve Sasha and probably Becky. Therefore no matter how good an impression Naomi can do of Liu Kang whilst delivering those kicks, I still predict a loss for Team B.A.D.
Prediction: Sasha Banks & Becky Lynch

Intercontinental Championship - Kevin Owens (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler
This match has been thrown together fairly quickly considering that Owens only just regained the Championship from Ambrose. I believe this match is designed to make Owens look a lot more credible going into WrestleMania. Whether that match will be against his friend Sami Zayn, AJ Styles or even another multi-man match for the Intercontinental Championship.
Prediction: Kevin Owens

Six Man Tag Team Match
Ryback & Big Show & Kane vs. The Wyatt Family

This match is purely designed to make the Wyatt Family look more credible going into WrestleMania. Presumably this will be something involving Brock Lesnar or The Undertaker (which I really hope is not the case). The Wyatts getting the victory here.

Prediction – The Wyatt Family

A.J. Styles vs. Chris Jericho
This is the match that I would have loved to have seen go two out of three falls instead of Kalisto and Del Rio. However, we should just be happy that we’ll be getting a quality match here which could potentially steal the show. I believe A.J. Styles needs the victory here just to continue his credibility on the WWE roster. Hopefully that will lead to him having a decent programme going into next month.

Prediction: A.J. Styles

WWE Divas Championship - Charlotte (c) vs. Brie Bella
This match just came out of nowhere. Sasha declared her interest in the Championship last month and everything seemed to stop when Brie got her surprise victory. Charlotte is obviously favourite here as this feels like a stepping stone to WrestleMania but there has been more crazy things to happen in WWE…

Prediction – Charlotte

Triple Threat – Winner goes to WrestleMania to face Triple H for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship - Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar vs. Dean Ambrose
Since last November, it’s looked like Triple H would be facing Roman Reigns due to the injury sustained by Seth Rollins. We’ve had many ups and downs with Roman in the past couple of months, which have involved him winning the WWE Championship to Triple H getting back in to the ring. The match since then has always been Roman Reigns vs. Triple H. Now the title is in the mix and Roman Reigns isn’t getting the fan reactions WWE would like. So we have Brock Lesnar and Dean Ambrose added to the mix. To be honest, a potential match with Triple H for any of these three competitors doesn’t completely jump out at me as a main event for WrestleMania. However, we all know with a good build and good booking, it can all come together brilliantly. I think for now though, I have to go for the safe bet…

Predicion – Roman Reigns
