TNA Impact wrestling 10.9.14 review - got the tables

This is this weeks impact wrestling review:

“Sgt.” Chris Melendez vs. “DJ Z” Zema Ion

Melendez’s girlfriend and father are shown at ringside, he is wearing his prosthetic leg in the ring. Zema and Melendez lockup with Zema getting Melendez in a wristlock. Zema spins around Melendez and transitions into a hammerlock before slapping him upside the head. Zema taunts Melendez and then kicks him followed by locking in a side headlock. Melendez reverses the hold but Zema quickly trips him and then taunts him again. Zema hits the ropes but eats a shoulder block from Melendez followed by a clothesline and then a Spinning Neckbreaker! Zema rolls out of the ring to get away from the surging Sarge. Melendez plays up to the crowd and Zema comes up behind him and chop blocks his leg. Zema rakes the back of Melendez and then chokes him in the ring.

Zema hits Flying Double Knees to the back of Melendez as he was hung up in the ropes and then he climbs to the top. Zema dives off the top and Melendez gets his feet up but Zema stops and catches that attempt. Zema then goes for an Elbow Drop but Melendez rolls out of the way and connects with a series of clotheslines and a Sidewalk Slam! Melendez follows up with an attempt at a Fireman’s Carry but Zema blocks it and grabs a side headlock again. Melendez shoves Zema into the corner but then eats an elbow as he charges at Zema. Zema charges at Melendez but runs right into a Samoan Drop for the pin!



Winner: Melendez via pinfall (Samoan Drop)

*not my kind of wrestler - handicaped or not. Zema really got potential and its not worth a lay down like that. 4 of 10 points


6-Man Tag Team Match
The Franchise Players vs. Samoa Joe, Bobby Roode, & Eric Young


As MVP and company are still huddled up around ringside Joe dives through the ropes onto all of them with a Tope Suicida! Joe tosses King into the ring and then slides in but King puts the boots to him. King hits the ropes but eats a huge Running Elbow from the Samoan Monster. Joe tosses King into the corner and beats him down with jabs. King tries to fight out but Joe tosses him into the opposite corner. Joe hits a Running Back Elbow followed by a Leaping Enziguri! King tries to come back with a kick to the gut but Joe catches his foot and spins King around. King spins right into a Cartwheel Kick to Joe! King Bulldog’s Joe across the top rope! King climbs up top and dives but Joe simply moves out of the way as King crash and burns! Joe tags in EY who hits a dropkick to King. 

EY whips King into the ropes and then connects with a Flying Forearm for a nearfall. EY attempts a clothesline but King ducks it and hits an Atomic Drop followed by a Spinning Enziguri! King tags in MVP who hits a series of body shots backing EY into the corner. MVP whips EY into the opposite corner but EY flips himself over the turnbuckles to the apron. EY then hits a shoulder block through the ropes on MVP and slingshots himself through the legs of MVP and follows up with a Belly-to-Belly Suplex for a nearfall. EY tosses MVP into the corner and hits an elbow but then King lays EY out from the apron. Lashley tags himself into the match and starts to beat on EY in the heel corner. Lashley flips off the crowd as they chant that he sucks and then connects a Snap Suplex for a nearfall. King tags back into the match and hits a Scoop Slam on EY followed by a Springboard Guillotine Leg Drop for another nearfall. King puts EY in a chinlock but EY fights it off only to get slammed to the mat by his hair. MVP tags back in and hits a Knee Drop for another nearfall.

Lashley tags into the match and hits a Running Shoulder Block to EY as King held him. Lashley puts EY in a wristlock and twists on his arm slamming him to the mat. EY fights him off with right hands and then hits the ropes but Lashley leapfrogs him and then kills him with a Lariat! Lashley puts EY in a Cross Armbreaker but EY rolls over for a pin but Lashley transitions into a Triangle Choke! EY deadlifts the much bigger Lashley in the air and into a Powerbomb! EY gets the hot tag to Roode and MVP tags in as well. Roode gives out clotheslines to all the heels and then hits a Flying Forearm on King! Roode hits an atomic drop followed by a high knee and a clothesline to MVP! Roode climbs up top and dives off with the Blockbuster! 1…2…NO 

King breaks it up but then eats a Samoan Drop from Joe! Lashley Spears Joe out of his boots! EY dives off the top with a Missile Dropkick to Lashley that sends Lashley to the floor! Lashley hits a Slingshot Plancha over the top onto Lashley on the floor! In the ring MVP hits a series of forearms followed by a European Uppercut and then a Lariat! MVP goes for the Driveby Kick but Roode sidesteps it and hits the Roode Bomb for the pin!



Winners: Roode, Joe, & EY via pinfall (Roode Bomb)
 
*really good 6 men tag match. Still not sure if Joe is good for the X-Division these days because he is a much better heavyweight #1 contender for Lashley. 8 of 10 points

 
Mixed Tag Team Match
Velvet Sky & Bro-Mans w/Angelina Love & Zema Ion vs. The Menagerie (Knux, Crazzy Steve, & Rebel) w/The Freak


This is Rebel’s in-ring debut with TNA. Steve and Jessie start the match off against each other. Robbie wants to prove he isn’t afraid of clowns anymore so he tags into the match. Steve chases Robbie around and Robbie tags Jessie back in who then nails Steve with a knee to the gut. Jessie Gorilla Press Slams Steve and Steve tags in Knux as Jessie poses. Knux whips Jesse into the ropes and connects with a shoulder block. Knux hits the ropes and Jessie goes for a backdrop but Knux sidesteps him with a cartwheel and then hits him with a Scoop Slam. Steve tags back in and he leaps to the shoulders of Jessie and bites him. Robbie punches Steve from the apron and Jessie hits him with a dropkick. Jessie hangs Steve up in the corner and the Bro-Mans hit the Boom! Knees. 

Robbie tags in and he chokes Steve followed by BP choking Steve as well. Velvet tags into the match and slaps Steve before tagging Jessie right back into the match. Jessie and Robbie toss Steve into the ropes and attempt a Double Backdrop, but Steve counters into a Double DDT! Steve tags in Rebel and Velvet tags in as well. Rebel avoids a clothesline attempt from Velvet with a split and then hits a clothesline of her own followed by a Bicycle Kick. Rebel attempts to whip Velvet into the corner but Velvet reverses it and then charges at Rebel, but Rebel leapfrogs her and rolls her up with a Sunset Flip! Bro-Mans run in and pull Rebel off but then eat a Double Flying Body Press from Knux! Steve grabs Velvet and kisses her! Steve then dives over the top with a Plancha onto the Bro-Mans! Rebel hits a Scoop Slam on Velvet and then climbs up top but Angelina grabs her leg. Rebel kicks her away but then Velvet rolls her up for the pin!



Winners: Bro-Mans & Velvet via pinfall (rollup)

* The Bro-Man idiots with the Beautiful People - really? The Menagerie is a much better group than the Bro-Mans. Wrong team wins for 4 of 10 points


Street Fight - “War Machine” Rhino vs. Ethan Carter III

Rhino runs out with a couple of trashcan full of weapons! Rhino jumps in the ring and lays into EC3 with right hands followed by a clothesline. Rhino whips EC3 into the corner and then hits a Running Shoulder Block. Rhino tosses EC3 to the floor and then into the guardrail! Rhino tosses some weapons in the ring but walks into a boot from EC3 before EC3 slams him into the guardrail. EC3 goes for a Suplex on the ramp but Rhino reverses it slamming EC3 down on the ramp! Rhino rolls EC3 into the ring and nails him with a cookie sheet for a nearfall. Rhino grabs a kendo stick and starts wearing EC3’s back out with it! Rhino chokes EC3 with the kendo stick and then goes to hit him with a chair, but EC3 low blows him and hits Rhino across the face repeatedly with a trashcan lid. EC3 hits Rhino with the whole trashcan and then takes his belt off and whips Rhino across the back with it over and over. EC3 wedges the trashcan in between the top and middle turnbuckle, and then slams a chair across the back of Rhino. He covers Rhino and gets a nearfall and then slams Rhino’s face into the garbage can several times. EC3 attempts to whip Rhino into the chair but Rhino counters into a Belly-to-Belly Suplex! Rhino sets up for the Gore but EC3 sidesteps him and Rhino runs into the trashcan that EC3 set up earlier. EC3 hits a Running Knee followed by the One Percenter onto a chair! 1…2…3!



Winner: EC3 via pinfall (One Percenter onto a chair)

*really good match again between those two. Like that feud so far. 8 of 10 points


The Revolution (James Storm & The Great Sanada) vs. “Japanese Buzzsaw” Yoshihiro Tajiri & “A-Double” Austin Aries

Sanada and Tajiri start the match off against each other. This is Tajiri’s in-ring TNA debut. They lockup in the ring and Sanada forces Tajiri to the mat with a double wristlock, but Tajiri bridges back up to his feet and reverses the wristlock into a hammerlock. Sanada counters into a hammerlock of his own and forces Tajiri to the mat. Tajiri fights back up to his feet and gets to the ropes and actually uses the ropes to reverse the hold and hang Sanada’s arm up in the ropes. Aries tags into the match and dives off the top with a Flying Axe Handle on Sanada. Aries chops Sanada and tags Tajiri back into the match where he hits a Roundhouse Kick for a series of nearfalls. Tajiri tags Aries back in and they whip Sanada into the ropes and Tajiri catches Sanada with a drop toehold and Aries locks him in the Last Chancery! Storm breaks it up with a boot to the gut and then Aries nails Storm with a Flying Forearm to knock him off the apron. Aries whips Sanada into the ropes but Sanada flips himself over the top and lands on the apron. Aries knocks Sanada off the apron and then hits the Heat Seeking Missile through the ropes onto the heels on the floor! 

Aries tosses Sanada back in the ring and then climbs up top but Storm shoves Aries off the top. Sanada tags Storm into the match and he drags Aries to the apron and uses the ring apron to choke Aries. Storm kicks Aries in the head and then covers him for a nearfall. Storm rakes the eyes of Aries and tags Sanada back into the match. Sanada hits a Muta Chop and then rakes the eyes of Aries as well. Sanada distracts the referee while Storm chokes Aries with the tag rope. Aries tries fighting off both heels with elbows and forearms but Sanada cuts him off with a rake of the eyes. Storm tags back in and he hits a Knee Drop followed by a Leg Drop for a nearfall before Tajiri breaks it up with a kick to the ass. Storm puts Aries in a Rear Chinlock and then he goes for the Eye of the Storm, but Aries blocks it and hits the Roaring Elbow! Aries tags in Tajiri while Storm tags in Sanada. Tajiri hits a series of round kicks and then the Handspring Back Elbow off the ropes for a nearfall. Sanada answers with a palm thrust to the throat that sends Tajiri reeling into the corner. Sanada charges into a boot from Tajiri followed by a Tornado DDT off the top but Sanada blocks it but eats a Superkick! 

1…2…NO Storm breaks it up! Aries attacks Storm and lays into him with chops. Tajiri and Storm beat on the heels in opposite corners but while the referee was watching Tajiri, Storm low blows Aries and tosses him over the top and onto the steps! Storm hits Tajiri from behind and then whips him into the corner. Storm charges right into the Tarantula from Tajiri! Tajiri then ducks the Green Mist from Sanada and hits a Roundhouse Kick before putting Sanada in the Tarantula as well! Strom spits beer in the face of Tajiri to break the hold and then Sanada hits the Sanada Kick for the pin!



Winners: Sanada & Storm via pinfall (Sanada Kick)

*James Storm building up a new stable - like that idea. With Sanada and Manik he got 2 really good wrestler and he is the power house in that group. 7 of 10 points.


TNA Tag Title Series Match #2 - Tables Match
The Wolves vs. Team 3D vs. Hardy Boyz


3D won Match #1 to get the right to choose the stipulation here and if they win tonight then they win the series and the titles. Just one man from a team has to be thrown through a table to decide the match. All three teams go at it at the bell. They all spill out to the floor and Jeff dives off the top with a Plancha onto Davey! Davey and Hardy take turns slamming each other into the apron while Devon and Eddie take turns slamming each other into the railing. Matt whips Bully into the ropes in the ring but eats a kick from Bully followed by a series of rights and the Atomic Elbow! Bully hits the Scoop Slam on Matt and then Devon dives off the top with the Wassup Diving Headbutt! DEVON GET THE TABLES! 3D pull out the first table of the match but The Wolves go flying under the ropes with Double Sliding Dropkicks attempt into the table!  3D lift up the table to avoid The Wolves and then slam it into them! The Hardyz hit Flying Dropkicks through the ropes into the table sending it into 3D! The table broke but remember you have to put a man THROUGH the table to win.


Back from the break The Hardyz toss The Wolves into the ring along with a table. Matt slams Davey throat first down onto one of the table legs, and then Front Suplexes Davey down across the SIDE of table ribs first! They set up the table in the center of the ring and then Matt goes to the floor and starts throwing punches with him while Jeff lays Eddie out on the table. Jeff climbs up top but Davey pulls Eddie off the top and then nails Jeff with a Leaping Forearm! Davey attempts a Superplex through the table but Devon pulls the table away! Eddie hits Devon with a Leaping Enziguri and then he mounts Devon in the corner and rains down right hands. Bully comes in and sets the table back up! 

Bully slaps Eddie and then lifts him to his shoulders as Devon climbs up top! They hit the Dudleyville Device but The Hardyz pulled the table out of the way! Davey comes in and starts exchanging nasty chops and kicks with both members of 3D! Davey hits the ropes but eats a stiff Double Shoulderblock from the veterans. 3D grabs Jeff and whip him into the corner and then they both charge into the boots of Jeffrey! Jeff leaps to the top and dives off with the Whisper in the Wind onto 3D! Matt tosses Devon to the floor and then sets the table back up this time in the corner. Matt leans Bully against the table and then Jeff dives off of Matt’s back with a Flying Dropkick but Bully moves out of the way and Jeff goes crashing through the table! 3D pulls out another table and they set it up on the floor this time. 3D attempts to Double Suplex Matt through it but The Wolves come flying through the ropes with Double Suicide Dives through the ropes! Jeff slams Eddie into the steps and then he moves the steps around and sets a table up on top of the steps and the apron setting it up like a bridge. He actually set the table up upside down on purpose as Taz calls him crazy. 

Jeff attempts to Suplex Davey onto the upside down table but Davey blocks it and goes for a German Suplex. Jeff blocks it with elbows and Eddie dives off the top with a Plancha onto Hardy! Matt tosses Davey into the ring and they exchange strikes. Matt goes for the Twist but Davey blocks it and he shoves Matt into the ropes as Eddie slides in and they hit the Alarm Clock! 3D tosses The Wolves to the floor and then Bully takes Jeff’s upside table and tosses it in the ring. 3D goes for the 3D on Matt through the table, but Davey hits a Missile Dropkick on Bully and Eddie dives off the top shoving the table out of the way as Devon lifted Matt in the air! The Wolves lay Matt out on the table and they climb to opposite corners! Bully and Jeff knock The Wolves to the floor. Jeff then shoves Bully through the ropes and hits a Slingshot Plancha over the top onto Bully on the floor! Matt sets Eddie up on the top rope and then hits him with a Hanging Twist of Fate off the top! Matt drags Eddie to the floor and lays him out on another table as Jeff climbs up top and dives off with the Swanton Bomb through Eddie and the table!





Winners: Hardyz via putting Eddie through a table (Hardyz: 1, 3D: 1, Wolves: 0)

* again a TOP Tag Team Match in TNA. Thats Tag Team Wrestling at his best!!!! 10 of 10 points. All 3 teams are best for business in TNA.
