WWE Money in the Bank 2019 PPV Predictions

Here are my predictions for tonights WWE ppv - Money in the Bank

Men's Money in the Bank Ladder Match: Ali vs. Andrade vs. Baron Corbin vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Finn Balor vs. Randy Orton vs. Ricochet vs. Sami Zayn

Very surprised this isn't a 10-man match that would have included Bobby Lashley, possibly Cesaro, maybe even Robert Roode or Cedric Alexander, Aleister Black, Buddy Murphy, etc. I'm also surprised that they switched Braun Strowman with Sami Zayn, but that at least seems like it'll help push a feud forward, so that's a good thing. I expect Strowman to get involved in some fashion to cost Zayn the match, by the way, and my top picks are still deadlocked in there as Andrade and Drew McIntyre.

PREDICTION: I wouldn't be shocked if Andrade won, but I'm going with Drew McIntyre

Women's Money in the Bank Ladder Match: Bayley vs. Carmella vs. Dana Brooke vs. Ember Moon vs. Mandy Rose vs. Naomi vs. Natalya vs. Nikki Cross

Very surprised Ruby Riott and Sasha Banks weren't in this match (but not surprised about the Banks backstage issues). Alexa Bliss was taken out of the equation after originally being scheduled for the match. It's not too surprising to me that Zelina Vega, Liv Morgan, The Kabuki Warriors, Mickie James and Sarah Logan aren't involved, but Sonya Deville was a surprise (unless she's helping or costing Mandy Rose the match).

With that being said, I think this match boils down to Mandy Rose or Bayley. Those are the only two that stand out as possibilities, and I think even more so that it's only a Bayley show. She can cash in on Charlotte Flair (if she wins the title) and stay a babyface, or she can cash in on Becky Lynch and win the title in a heel turn and finally refresh her character.

PREDICTION: Bayley wins and the only way she doesn't is if Sasha Banks somehow enters the match.

Raw Women's Championship Match: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Lacey Evans

Lacey Evans did nothing but wait, and somehow, WWE felt like that was a good enough build for her to go straight into a title match. Flawed logic, and I hope it doesn't backfire, because Lacey has a lot of potential and this could kill her momentum before she ever has a chance. I think this is a no-win situation. If Becky wins, Lacey hit a roadblock from day one. If Lacey wins, people will view her as a Roman Reigns type being pushed down their throats. If there's a non-finish, that will seem like an underwhelming stall.

PREDICTION: Becky Lynch retains the title.

Universal Championship Match: Seth Rollins (c) vs. AJ Styles

I thought they would go with Baron Corbin here, so I'm pretty surprised. However, this isn't too wild of an idea. Having Rollins vs. Styles in a face/face feud is easier to pull off when you have something like the Money in the Bank ladder matches as another selling point, because you don't have to build the next few weeks around some bitter feud between the two, and most of the selling points will just be people interested in seeing Rollins and Styles lock up for the first time.

PREDICTION: Seth Rollins retains the title.

WWE Championship Match: Kofi Kingston (c) vs. Kevin Owens

There goes that face turn. I knew they'd reneg on that. That's disappointing. I was hoping to see Owens against some other people like Randy Orton.

PREDICTION: Kofi Kingston retains the title.

Elias vs. Roman Reigns

Didn't they do a random singles match last year at Money in the Bank with Roman Reigns just to keep him out of the ladder match? Wasn't that Jinder Mahal's purpose? Why are we redoing that? Oh well, at least it means that will free up one more spot for someone else on SmackDown to get into the MITB match.

PREDICTION: Roman Reigns wins.

SmackDown Women's Championship Match: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Charlotte Flair

They have had good to great matches, but yeah, I've seen this enough times that I have nothing to say about it. Part of me really thinks Flair can win this and another part of me thinks Becky will just barely retain, only to be cashed in on and lose the title to someone else.

PREDICTION: 51% leaning toward Becky Lynch retaining the title. I wouldn't be shocked at all if Flair win the title, or if Bayley cashed in, though.

Steel Cage Match: The Miz vs. Shane McMahon

I wonder why they're doing both a cage match and two ladder matches on the same event. That seems strange. You'd think maybe they'd do the steel cage match at the Saudi Arabia show or something instead, right?

PREDICTION: The Miz wins, unless someone interferes to attack him and start a new feud.

United States Championship Match: Samoa Joe (c) vs. Rey Mysterio

It seemed at first like this would be Braun Strowman, but they went ahead and changed that up to being a rematch from WrestleMania. My guess is they'll do here what they originally planned on doing back at Mania, which is why Dominic is still factoring into things. Either he does something to help Mysterio win, or he is the reason why Rey loses.

PREDICTION: Samoa Joe will retain with the help of Dominic.

Cruiserweight Championship Match: Tony Nese (c) vs. Ariya Daivari

This made sense as the first feud for Tony Nese to brush aside.

Drew Gulak will be busy with Humberto Carrillo and Gentleman Jack Gallagher for a little bit. Oney Lorcan might start a feud with someone else. Akira Tozawa and The Brian Kendrick are still babyfaces. Mike Kanellis is after Daivari, I think, who was touted as being "undefeated for a while" so he seems like the first person to be fed to Nese in order to help establish him as champion, even though I don't think it's going to move the needle.

Then, after we've gone from Daivari to Kanellis, we'll go to Gulak and Nese will drop the belt to him.

PREDICTION: Tony Nese retains the title.

SmackDown Tag Team Champions Daniel Bryan and Rowan (c) vs. The Usos

You shouldn't have to continually bring a Raw tag team over to SmackDown just to have challengers for Daniel Bryan and Rowan. With that being in mind, there's no way The Usos can win this match if the titles are on the line, but it seems as though WWE is making this a non-title match. In that scenario, The Usos can win, and that might be exactly why they are making this with the belts not up for grabs.

PREDICTION: Daniel Bryan and Rowan retain the titles if they're on the line, but if it's a non-title match, The Usos win.

WWE WrestleMania 35 predictions

Here are my predictions for tonights WWE WrestleMania

Winner Takes All Triple Threat Match: Raw Women's Champion Ronda Rousey (c) vs. Becky Lynch vs. SmackDown Women's Champion Charlotte Flair (c)

Becky Lynch absolutely has to win this, right? They wouldn't be stupid enough to end WrestleMania by having Ronda Rousey or Charlotte Flair as dual-champion and the arena booing the first-ever women's main event...right? Right?.. Or is Baszler helping Rousey retaining? Hopefully NOT!

PREDICTION: Lynch wins the titles.

Universal Championship Match: Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Seth Rollins

Either Rollins takes the title off Lesnar and they restore Raw back to some kind of balance, or they keep it on Lesnar because they DESPERATELY want Roman Reigns to return to fill that top spot again, be it at SummerSlam or hell, even WrestleMania 36 if they're willing to go along with history and just keep it on Lesnar like they always do.

I really hope Rollins wins, but I have no faith that will happen and I legitimately have no interest in this match and am more excited about seeing the opening video package to WrestleMania than seeing what these two do. Isn't that sad? That's what happens when WWE books Lesnar the way they've done the past 3 years.

PREDICTION: Brock Lesnar retains

WWE Championship Match: Daniel Bryan (c) vs. Kofi Kingston

This whole Kofi Kingston thing certainly wasn't planned, as Mustafa Ali was supposed to be in the Elimination Chamber match, but the groundswell of support for Kofi forced WWE to go in this direction. I'm super glad they're doing it. It's something different (despite how we've seen Kingston fight Bryan at Elimination Chamber) and it's refreshing to see someone like Kingston get his just due. I really hope they actually put the title on him, even if it's just for a short transitional reign. That would be really special.

PREDICTION: Daniel Bryan retains the title

No Holds Barred Match: Triple H vs. Batista

Batista has a job in Hollywood. WWE is all Hunter has. The real winner is the intern who got a raise for that epic HHH photoshopping.

Pick: HHH

Kurt Angle vs. Baron Corbin

Why do I feel like this is just a setup and he's not actually facing Corbin? If he does just face Corbin, that's underwhelming. I'm assuming he destroys Corbin in a squash and then says he doesn't want to go out like that, which is where John Cena comes into play, or The Undertaker (but I'm leaning toward Cena).

PREDICTION: Kurt Angle wins.

Falls Count Anywhere Match: The Miz vs. Shane McMahon

I'm not so into this. I'm not a huge fan of The Miz, but I don't think Shane McMahon needs to keep having matches at WrestleMania and I feel like The Miz deserved better than this, and this match doesn't justify being on a card that is so stacked as it is.

But hey, AJ Styles and McMahon had a good match, so maybe this will all work out. I hope I'm wrong about my foresight. Thankfully, they added the Falls Count Anywhere stipulation to help make this better.

PREDICTION: The Miz wins.

AJ Styles vs. Randy Orton

This seems to be a regular match that will be somewhere in the midcard, but I dig it. Their promo back-and-forth on SmackDown 3/12 was awesome.

PREDICTION: AJ Styles wins.

Drew McIntyre vs. Roman Reigns

This could be a world title program this year. Why is it being wasted as a random match at WrestleMania when the card is already so damn stacked? It seems like a misstep that we're all going to regret WWE doing over the course of the year. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think I will be.

PREDICTION: Roman Reigns wins.

Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal

WWE won't likely bother thinking of any potential winners until maybe a few days before WrestleMania itself, cause they don't care. This year, it seems there are going to be quite a few names in this, so at least that's good.

Confirmed participants = Braun Strowman, Colin Jost and Michael Che, Ali, Andrade, Apollo Crews, Bo Dallas, Bobby Roode, Chad Gable, Curtis Axel, EC3, Gran Metalik, Heath Slater, Jeff Hardy, Jinder Mahal, Kalisto, Karl Anderson, Konnor, Lince Dorado, Luke Gallows, Matt Hardy, No Way Jose, Otis, Rhyno, Shelton Benjamin, Titus O'Neil, Tucker, Tyler Breeze, Viktor

Possible participants in this match who aren't confirmed yet = Bray Wyatt, The Colons, Curt Hawkins, Dolph Ziggler, Harper, Kevin Owens, Mojo Rawley, R-Truth, Rezar, Sami Zayn, SAnitY, Sin Cara, The Singh Brothers, and Zack Ryder + stars from NXT, NXT UK and 205 Live

PREDICTION: Braun Strowman makes the most sense, so probably Lars Sullivan wins just to do something unexpected.

United States Championship Match: Samoa Joe (c) vs. Rey Mysterio

Well this is underwhelming as the two have been fighting each other for a month, and it also means no Andrade singles match against Mysterio. Admittedly, I'm glad these two are fighting each other, and in any other scenario, this would be a good match and a worthwhile thing to advertise for WrestleMania, but I always feel like Mania shouldn't have matches that have happened repeatedly around the same time frame. If they had kept these two away from each other instead of wrestling so much recently, I'd be much more into it. I also feel disappointed in the lack of the Andrade match (which I know goes against my theory about rematches) and no Joe vs. John Cena scenario, too.

PREDICTION: Rey Mysterio wins the title here so he can drop it to Andrade.

Cruiserweight Championship Match: Buddy Murphy (c) vs. Tony Nese

This tournament had such underwhelming options and there wasn't a single match possible from the lineup that I think would have felt special. I can't help but to just feel so "meh" about it. I guess they're going with Nese so they can try to play off their friendship as being "interesting" for an angle (it isn't) and to push Nese in that spot since he's from New York. Don't be surprised if nobody at all cares, which is sad, as 205 Live could be so much better.

PREDICTION: Buddy Murphy retains.

Intercontinental Championship Match: Bobby Lashley (c) vs. Finn Balor

A regular match between Lashley and Balor just seems so flat, and I say that knowing full well that Demon Balor means absolutely nothing to me. This is so incredibly underwhelming that I wouldn't mind if it actually got cut from the card, even though I hate the idea of the Intercontinental Championship being sidelined like that. Lashley and Balor could have been a good match for this card if it wasn't done 50x leading up to the event.

PREDICTION: It all depends on the Superstar Shake-up. If Balor goes to SmackDown, I think Lashley retains. If Joe or Mysterio goes to Raw as United States champion, then Balor wins the title and goes to SmackDown. If Balor is going to stay on Raw, then Lashley retains.

Women's Tag Team Championship Fatal 4-Way Match: The Boss 'n' Hug Connection (c) vs. Natalya and Beth Phoenix vs. Nia Jax and Tamina vs. The IIconics

I had thought Team Besties and The Bella Twins were the main potentials, but they've been replaced by The Divas of Doom.

Unfortunately, Nia Jax and Tamina are still somehow in the mix. I don't know why, considering they definitively lost their previous two attempts to win the titles and they aren't some team that people would clamor to see. Lame.

The IIconics are at least in the match, too, though. At least they're getting some recognition to do. This will only be the third pay-per-view they competed at in the past year, which is crazy.

PREDICTION: Banks and Bayley win.

Women's Battle Royal

This will feature everyone else who isn't in the three other matches.

Confirmed participants = Asuka, Carmella, Dana Brooke, Lana, Liv Morgan, Mandy Rose, Mickie James, Naomi, Nikki Cross, Ruby Riott, Sarah Logan, Sonya Deville, Zelina Vega

Likely participants in this match who aren't confirmed yet = Alexa Bliss (doubtful), Alicia Fox (doubtful), Ember Moon (doubtful), Lacey Evans (why hasn't she been announced?), and some women from NXT

PREDICTION: Top picks are Asuka, Lacey Evans and Bianca Belair. I'll lean towards the safe bet of Asuka for now.

SmackDown Tag Team Championship Fatal 4-Way Match: The Usos (c) vs. Rusev and Shinsuke Nakamura vs. The Bar vs. Aleister Black and Ricochet

Curious why The Hardy Boyz weren't in this, instead of Black and Ricochet, but hey, I won't complain. This will be a good match. I don't have too much to say about it, as it isn't the most thrilling thing in the world, but the match itself should hold its own and deliver. Since The Usos have supposedly signed new contracts with WWE, I don't think they're losing the titles just yet, although if they do, it will certainly be to Black and Ricochet.

PREDICTION: The Usos retain the titles.

Raw Tag Team Championship Match: The Revival (c) vs. Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins

Since they're in New York (sort of), I think this absolutely has to be when Hawkins ends his losing streak and The Major Bros win the titles for the first time in 11 years.

PREDICTION: Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder win the titles.

WWE NXT TakeOver: New York predictions

Here are my predictions for tonights NXT TakeOver NY:

Johnny Gargano vs. Adam Cole in a 2-out-of-3 falls match for the vacant NXT title
-> It’s tough to predict a match that was put together last minute. If Ciampa didn’t have to get surgery, I’d pick Gargano with high confidence. In that sense, they could just go with the plan they had. But they may want to make Gargano chase the man he eventually wins it from. I say he’s been chasing enough and Johnny Wrestling wins it here.
Pick: Johnny Gargano

WALTER vs. Pete Dunne (c) for the United Kingdom title
-> If we knew when (or if) there will be another UK TakeOver, I’d say hold off. We don’t, and they need to something big with this spotlight to make more of those happen.
Pick: WALTER

Matt Riddle vs. Velveteen Dream (c) for the North American championship
-> More than almost any match on the card, this one feels like the old “loser’s in line for a call-up” approach. And I really don’t know who that should be. Both men have the tools to succeed at the next level if the creative is there and, well, you know how that goes. Taking that out of the equation, The Purple One has proven pretty loss proof and his tenure probably earns him a shot at a bigger belt (a shot he probably should have taken with his Worlds Collide win? But whatevs).
Pick: Matt Riddle

Io Shirai vs. Kairi Sane vs. Shayna Baszler (c) vs. Bianca Belair for the NXT Women’s title
->The numbers usually favor the champ in these situations. But it may be time to bring Shayna up to the main roster. She can lose the title here and they can continue an Io Shirai/Bianca Belair feud for the title from here. Pick: Bianca Belair - Miss UN DE FEA TED !!!

War Raiders (c) vs. Aleister Black & Ricochet for the NXT Tag Team championship
-> Black and Ricochet are a main roster act. I can’t imagine them winning the gold here. Should be a great match, though. Pick: War Raiders
