WWE No Mercy 2016 predictions

Here are my predictions to tonights WWE ppv

1. Triple Threat for the WWE Championship: AJ Styles (c) vs. John Cena vs. Dean Ambrose
-> A lot of the story focus here is on John Cena and whether or not he’ll win his 16th World Championship. I don’t think that’s gonna happen — not on a No Mercy pay-per-view, anyway — nor do I think we’re deep enough into the AJ Styles title run to pull the plug on it. You want to see Styles stay champion. The WORLD wants to see Styles stay champion. Cena has other things to do for the next few months, and Dean Ambrose is already the third wheel in his own title rematch.

2. Intercontinental Championship vs. Career Match: The Miz (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler
-> I could see Miz winning clean here, then refusing to accept it and just badgering Ziggler in promos for like a year until Dolph shows back up in street clothes and beats his ass. And then Miz is forced to get Ziggler back in the ring if he wants to legally fight him. Maybe absence will make our hearts grow fonder, and a refreshed Ziggler can return to finally, finally be an important part of WWE.

3. Smackdown Women’s Championship Match: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Alexa Bliss
-> There’s finally a high profile Smackdown Women’s Championship (or even #1 contender match) that is one-on-one and not EVERYBODY INTO THE POOL, so I’m hoping both women lace up their worker boots and give us something special. It’s a great combination of a workhorse fan favorite and a young talent killing it in the entertainment department, so if Bliss can get rolling physically and Lynch can keep it all gelled together, this should be good. Becky wins, because of course she does.

4. Smackdown Tag Team Championship Match: Heath Slater and Rhyno (c) vs. The Usos
-> The point of Heath Slater and Rhyno winning the Smackdown Tag Team Championship tournament was to make Slater a fan favorite and get him a regular main roster gig. Mission accomplished. These guys don’t need to STAY champions, though, and the new-look Briscoe Brother Usos are as good as they’ve ever been. Give it to the Usos via Rhyno back-of-the-leg-superkick injury, and push them headfirst into a high-profile feud with American Alpha.

5. Bray Wyatt vs. Randy Orton
-> I have a hunch Bray Wyatt is going to win this match when Randy Orton gets distracted by the debuting physical manifestation of Sister Abigail.

6. Nikki Bella vs. Carmella
-> Carmella has consistently gotten the better of Nikki over the past month, so it’s time for her comeuppance. Nikki gets a nice first big singles win since returning and Carmella will probably attack her after the match to keep the program going. It’s a pretty good program, so I’m not mad about it.



7. Curt Hawkins vs. TBA
-> really don´t care about this one

8. Jack Swagger vs. Baron Corbin
-> My instincts say Baron Corbin goes over clean

WWE Smackdown Live Results 10/4/16

Back from 3 weeks vacation....

1. Kane defeated Bray Wyatt. The show opened with Wyatt’s entrance, then went into Kane’s entrance and resulting match. Randy Orton appeared on the TitanTron and distracted Wyatt, who opted to take a countout loss and head to the back, possibly to hunt down the Viper.

2. Nikki Bella defeated Alexa Bliss. Carmella was on commentary for this match. Carmella got in Nikki’s face during the match, so Nikki threw Alexa into her. Carmella then jumped Nikki in the ring, giving her the win by disqualification.

— After the match, Becky Lynch saved Nikki from a Carmella and Alexa beatdown, then she and Nikki cleared the ring. During the commercial break, Daniel Bryan made this a tag team match.

3. Alexa Bliss and Carmella defeated Becky Lynch and Nikki Bella. Carmella hit Becky with a thrust kick, then was taken out of action by Nikki. Alexa hit Twisted Bliss on Becky to score the pinfall.

— Bray Wyatt was lured into Randy Orton’s trap backstage, then Orton locked him in a storage space.

— Daniel Bryan appeared in the ring with cancer survivors representing the Susan G. Komen foundation and presented them with championship belts, just as Enzo Amore and Big Cass did on Raw.

4. The Hype Bros defeated The Vaudevillains. During the match, the Ascension came out to watch from the top of the ramp. The Hype Bros hit the Hype Ryder on Aiden English to get the win.

— The Miz and Maryse welcomed Dolph Ziggler To MizTV and presented a “Dolphumentary” that “celebrated” Ziggler’s career. Miz brings out two members of the Spirit Squad to taunt Ziggler, and then they jump him. Ziggler manages to beat them both up and then run off the Miz.

5. Jason Jordan defeated Jey Uso. Jordan got a quick win with a roll-up.

— After the match, the Usos jumped both members of American Alpha, re-injuring Chad Gable’s leg and attempting to do the same to Jason Jordan, but Heath Slater and Rhyno made the save and ran off the Usos.

— In the storage space, Bray Wyatt claimed to see Sister Abigail. When Orton came to check on Wyatt, he was gone.

6. Jack Swagger defeated Baron Corbin. Swagger had the ankle lock applied and Corbin hit the mat repeatedly reaching for the bottom rope, so the referee ruled Corbin tapped out and called for the bell.

— AJ Styles, John Cena and Dean Ambrose met in the ring to face off before their Triple Threat match on Sunday. The conversation broke down into fisticuffs. Cena tossed Styles from the ring, hit Ambrose with an AA and posed with Styles’ belt. Styles then laid out Cena with the Phenomenal Forearm and posed with his belt. Styles attempted to leave, but Ambrose hit Dirty Deeds on the ramp and held the belt aloft to end the show.

WWE Backlash 2016 predictions

Here are my predictions for tonights WWE ppv

WWE World Championship Match: Dean Ambrose (c) vs. AJ Styles

I'm very intrigued, but also very concerned. I thought AJ Styles would be wrapped up with either John Cena or Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt would be in his place wrestling Dolph Ziggler and Dean Ambrose in a triple threat. When the option to make this a triple threat with Ziggler and Styles came up, that seemed like the route they would go, but Ziggler was then pushed aside. Bray Wyatt is now feuding with Randy Orton, which I think is a mistake (more on that below) and I have no idea what they'll do with Ziggler, and Cena's taking the first SmackDown event off, AND I think this is too early to do Styles vs. Ambrose.

This is either a panic response in the hopes that they'll put the most interesting thing out there and beg people to watch, or WWE has a few tricks up their sleeves. I'm inclined to believe the former, as we have suspensions and injuries and people leaving the company and more. Just don't mess this up, WWE. I don't want to see Ambrose win here, a rematch at No Mercy, a rematch at Survivor Series, a rematch after that and for the title change to happen at the wrong time or for anything weird to happen. I don't have a lot of faith that I'm going to enjoy WWE programming over the next few months, and oddly enough, a match as good as this one is one of the reasons that makes me think that, because I feel like they're jumping the gun and will run out of options.

PREDICTION: AJ Styles wins.

SmackDown Women's Championship Six-Pack Challenge Match: Natalya vs. Naomi vs. Becky Lynch vs. Nikki Bella vs. Carmella vs. Alexa Bliss

It would've pissed people off so much if Eva Marie were to win this, and I almost wanted them to do that just for the look on everyone's faces despite how risky it would be, but with her being suspended, that's no longer on the table unless it happens after her suspension is up. If a match takes place at Backlash and she's not available, then this definitely needs to be given to Becky Lynch, Natalya, Alexa Bliss or Naomi, but I'd narrow it down to Lynch or Bliss as the other two don't have as much steam behind them. I love a lot about Carmella, but she's not ready, either. The standout of the bunch is definitely Becky Lynch, so she's my pick.

PREDICTION: Becky Lynch wins.

SmackDown Tag Team Championship Tournament Semi-Finals: The Usos vs. The Hype Bros

I've had to adjust this paragraph so often over the past week, but here we go again. I now like the way they're doing this, as opposed to being against it. The Usos will defeat The Hype Bros and then spoil the party for Heath Slater and Rhyno, which will make them look very strong to offset their quick loss to American Alpha. My previous pick to win the tournament post-SummerSlam is now restored, as heel Usos makes sense.

PREDICTION: The Usos win.

SmackDown Tag Team Championship Match: Heath Slater & Rhyno vs. TBD

As mentioned in the section above, I expect The Usos to take down The Hype Bros and then also ruin everything for Heath Slater and Rhyno, making them quite over as heels by taking all of the potential babyfaces out of the equation. Perhaps Slater and Rhyno pull off the win and then drop the title the next night to The Usos or something like that, but I would have to aim more for The Usos getting the victory.

PREDICTION: The Usos win the titles. 

Bray Wyatt vs. Randy Orton

I maintain that Orton should have started a feud with Styles and Wyatt should have been in a triple threat match with Ambrose and Ziggler instead of going this route, but hey, that's just what I would prefer, not what is actually happening. The problem with this is that Wyatt needs wins, as he always loses, and Orton needs a win following his embarrassment from Lesnar. This is a lose/lose. Neither man gets much by beating the other one, as they don't have the same credibility they should have, and neither man gains anything at all by losing.

PREDICTION: Bray Wyatt wins. 

WWE Intercontinental Championship Match: The Miz (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler

Well, Apollo Crews was sure pushed aside, wasn't he? His feud with The Miz didn't even really get started and then he lost his match at SummerSlam, only to fade into the background quickly. Damn. Now, Dolph Ziggler and The Miz are clearly locked into a feud not only for the title, but for KFC pride.

PREDICTION: The Miz retains through some sort of bullshittery.

WWE SD Live results 6.9.16

1. The Miz defeated Apollo Crews. Dolph Ziggler was on commentary for this match. Miz suckered Ziggler into getting involved, then shoved Crews into him. Miz shoved Crews into the ringpost, then hit the Skull Crushing Finale for the pin.

— After the match, Ziggler challenged Miz to come to the ring to retrieve his Intercontinental Championship. Miz instead sent Maryse to pick it up.

2. Natalya, Alexa Bliss and Carmella defeated Becky Lynch, Naomi and Nikki Bella. Carmella forced Nikki to tap out to the Code of Silence to pick up the win for her team.

3. American Alpha defeated The Usos. American Alpha won with the Grand Amplitude in a quick squash match to advance to the Tag Title Tournament final.

— Fandango appears in the ring and auditions women to dance with. They don’t work out, so he asks if anyone has the fire to dance with him. This brings out Kane who, of course, chokeslams him.

4. Slater and Rhyno defeated The Hype Bros. Rhyno gored Zack Ryder to pick up the win and advance his team to the tournament final.

— Dean Ambrose headed to the ring to confront AJ Styles with the championship and a duffle bag in tow. Ambrose presented Styles with a trophy, saying it would be the only one he’d ever get from him. Styles pointed out that he beat John Cena clean, and Ambrose is no John Cena. The show ended with Styles kicking Ambrose in the crotch.

WWE RAW results 5.9.16

1. Bayley defeated Charlotte. This was a non-title match. Bayley connected with the Bayley-To-Belly for the pin after Charlotte collided with Dana Brooke at ringside.

2. Bo Dallas defeated Kyle Roberts. Dallas won a short squash match with his new finisher, which is a version of the Cross Rhodes.

3. Seth Rollins defeated Chris Jericho. Owens was backstage watching on a monitor. Rollins got the pin after a Pedigree.

4. Best of Seven Series: Sheamus defeated Cesaro. Sheamus took advantage of Cesaro’s injured back and dominated the match, then hit a Brogue Kick to go up 3-0 in the series.

5. The Shining Stars defeated Enzo Amore and Big Cass. The Shining Stars took advantage of legal man confusion and rolled Enzo up with a handful of tights for the pin.

6. Nia Jax defeated Ann Esposito. Esposito is a Kansas City area friend of Alicia Fox’s. Jax won the match via pinfall following her powerslam finisher.

— Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson brought out “The Old Day,” a future version of The New
 Day. The New Day appeared and chased off Gallows and Anderson, then beat up The Old Day.

7. Darren Young defeated Jinder Mahal. Titus O’Neil sat in on commentary for this match and attempted to distract Young at the end, but Young hit the Gut Check to get the pin on Mahal. Young attacked O’Neil after the match.

— Alicia Fox and Nia Jax had a confrontation backstage.

8. Braun Strowman defeated Sin Cara. This was Braun Strowman’s first match against a full-time Superstar since the draft and was made at the request of Sin Cara. Strowman won the match by countout, then beat down Sin Cara more on the outside after the match.

— Sasha Banks returned to Raw for the first time since SummerSlam. She said she got some bad news from some doctors, but she was interrupted by Dana Brooke. Dana said she was going to end Banks’ journey, but Sasha hit her with the Backstabber and the Banks Statement. Sasha clarified the bad news was for Charlotte, because she’s taking her title back at Clash of Champions.

9. Kevin Owens defeated Sami Zayn. Zayn’s Helluva Kick got cut off by an Owens superkick, then Owens hit a powerbomb to get the pin.

— After the match, Reigns came out to the ring. Mick Foley came out and said that if Reigns can beat Owens in a one-on-one match next week, Reigns will be added to the title match at Clash of Champions.

WWE Smackdown Live Results 8/30/16

1. Tag Team Tournament First Round Match: The Hype Bros defeated the Vaudevillains. The Hype Bros won a very short match with the Hype Ryder.

— AJ Styles comes to the ring, still wearing his John Cena headband. He demands to be introduced as “The Face That Runs The Place.” He promises to beat Dean Ambrose to win the WWE Championship, but is interrupted by Apollo Crews. Crews says he asked Daniel Bryan for a match against Styles, and that match starts now.

2. AJ Styles defeated Apollo Crews. Styles picked up the pinfall victory after a Phenomenal Forearm.

— Renee Young traveled to Heath Slater’s trailer park home to conduct a sit-down interview with Slater, Rhyno and Slater’s wife, Beulah.

— Bray Wyatt delivered a “sermon” to Randy Orton and advised him to run. Instead, Orton came out to confront him. Orton said he’s not afraid of Bray and he’s not afraid to kick his ass now. Bray disappeared before Orton could get in the ring.

3. Alexa Bliss and Natalya defeated Becky Lynch and Naomi. Nikki Bella was on commentary for the match, talking about her burgeoning feud with Carmella. Carmella came out and attacked Nikki at the announce table, distracting Becky and allowing Alexa to roll her up for the pin.

4. Heath Slater and Rhyno defeated The Headbangers. The Headbangers were wrestling their first WWE match in 16 years. Rhyno and Slater both got busted open in this match and Rhyno hit the Gore for the win.

— A man named Gary “The Milkman” Milman was in the ring and said he had been granted a license to compete tonight. He stripped down to his underwear. Kane’s music hit and Kane came out and chokeslammed Milman.

5. Baron Corbin defeated Dean Ambrose. Corbin and Kane crossed paths on Corbin’s way to the ring. AJ Styles sat in on commentary for this match. Styles attempted to get involved and kicked Corbin in the head by mistake. All three men fought after the match. Ambrose hit Corbin with Dirty Deeds and crotched Styles on the top rope, then left.

WWE Raw Results 8/29/16

1. Chris Jericho defeated Neville. Jericho was eventually able to counter a hurricanrana into the Lion Tamer version of the Walls of Jericho for the submission victory.

— Bayley was backstage and ran into the New Day. Dana Brooke showed up to insult Bayley, which led to a challenge from New Day and Bayley to Dana, Gallows and Anderson.

2. Nia Jax defeated Hyan. Another quick win for Jax, which she won via pinfall after the Samoan driver. Her opponent was Houston local Hyaneyoung Olvera.

3. Sami Zayn defeated Jinder Mahal. Zayn was still selling his ankle injury from last week, but still got the win after the Helluva Kick.

4. Bayley and the New Day defeated Dana Brooke, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows. Charlotte was on commentary for this match. Bayley got the win for her team with a Bayley-to-Belly on Dana.

5. Best of Seven Series: Sheamus defeated Cesaro. Cesaro got backdropped into the ringpost on the outside and Sheamus rolled him back in and applied the Cloverleaf for the submission victory to go up 2-0 in the series.

6. Braun Strowman defeated Americo. Strowman won a quick match with a pop-up reverse chokeslam of sorts.

— Stephanie McMahon demanded Paul Heyman come to the ring and apologize for Brock Lesnar’s actions at SummerSlam. Heyman paid Lesnar’s fine, they both threatened each other, then Heyman apologized. Stephanie accepted his apology, then stormed out.

7. Darren Young defeated Titus O’Neil. Young managed to catch O’Neil in a crucifix for the pin. After the match, O’Neil beat down both Young and Bob Backlund.

8. Fatal 4-Way Match For The WWE Universal Championship: Kevin Owens defeated Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns and Big Cass. Big Cass was eliminated first after a frog splash from Owens. Reigns was eliminated after Triple H returned to Pedigree him on the floor and helped Rollins pin him. Triple H then turned on Rollins and Pedigreed him, allowing Owens to get the pin and become the second ever Universal Champion.
