WWE Extreme Rules 2015 predictions

UPDATE: Daniel Bryan vs Badd News Barrett is cancelt and the Tag Titles Match moved to the ppv. Barrett will face Neville during the Kick Off Show.

Here are my predictions for tonights WWE PPV

[WWE World Heavyweight Championship - Steel Cage Match]: Seth Rollins (c) vs. Randy Orton

I had thought this would be a triple threat with Roman Reigns, but it appears as though Reigns is being pushed aside for now. Still, this makes sense as Orton defeated Rollins earlier in the night at WrestleMania, so it isn't out of left field. As far as the gimmick goes, I saw this being a steel cage match from a mile away. The Authority will still interfere, though. With the extra stipulation that the RKO is banned, that will make it easier for Rollins to retain the title. Hopefully, it won't be the end of the match with a DQ.

PREDICTION: Seth Rollins retains after Bray Wyatt interferes. Yup. Wyatt's next feud is Randy Orton.

[WWE United States Championship - Russian Chain Match]: John Cena (c) vs. Rusev

Russian Chain Match? Well, at least this isn't a Last Man Standing match as I was predicting, which would have been a bore. I'll give them some optimism for that. Still, I haven't enjoyed either of the matches between these two and I'm not the biggest strap/chain match fan, so I'm not looking forwrd to this, either.

PREDICTION: Rusev dominates and Cena wins in the end.

[WWE Intercontinental Championship]: Daniel Bryan (c) vs. Bad News Barrett

WWE has already prepped themselves for this match not even happening by saying that it is only going to take place if Bryan is cleared to wrestle. Thus, don't be surprised if this match is either cut entirely or at least cut drastically short.

PREDICTION: Daniel Bryan retains if he wrestles at all. If he doesn't, WWE will just ignore it, but if they are smart, they would have Neville take Bryan's place and make it so if Neville wins, he's the new #1 contender, but still have Barrett win.

[WWE Divas Championship]: Nikki Bella (c) vs. Naomi

Before AJ Lee retired, I was assuming this would be a Fatal 4-Way including Brie, Paige and AJ Lee. Now that that's happened, Naomi's swept in and not only taken AJ Lee's spot, but also Paige's, as she's getting a well-deserved title shot that's over a year later than when it should have taken place, essentially. Naomi's been better than what WWE's been giving her credit for and I'd actually be fine with her winning the title here, but I don't think she will. I'm expecting something to happen here where Naomi wins the match but doesn't win the title or gets screwed in losing.

PREDICTION: Nikki Bella retains.

[Kiss Me Arse Match]: Sheamus vs. Dolph Ziggler

Since when was this an "extreme rules" type of gimmick? Stupid booking.

PREDICTION: Sheamus wins because that's who they want to build up.

[Last Man Standing Match] Roman Reigns vs. Big Show

Well, it just wouldn't be Extreme Rules without a Last Man Standing Match, right? Those matches are usually kind of boring, so I hope these two figure out a way to get around the problem of having to count to 9 about 30 times during it.

PREDICTION: Roman Reigns wins.

[WWE Tag Team Championship - Kickoff Match]: Tyson Kidd and Cesaro (c) vs. The New Day

I was kind of hoping The New Day would get this shot instead of The Lucha Dragons, and having Xavier Woods screw Lucha Dragons the way he did made me laugh, so I'm down. It'll be interesting to see Kidd and Cesaro playing babyface here.

PREDICTION: Kidd and Cesaro retain.

[Chicago Street Fight]: Luke Harper vs. Dean Ambrose

This would have been much more interesting as a Falls Count Anywhere match, but WWE seems to not like those. What they DO like, though, is having 100 names for No Disqualification matches. What's the difference between an Extreme Rules match, a No DQ match, a Street Fight and a Chicago Street Fight? Nothing about any of them except the latter has to take place in Chicago. Then again, what's the difference between a Russian Chain match and a regular chain match? Exactly. At least these two should be good for having some hardcore action to make up for the lack of it on the rest of the card.

PREDICTION: Dean Ambrose win.
